Pre-Game vs. Syracuse 12/8

Greetings from the Glens Falls Civic Center, where the Adirondack Phantoms (9-12) look to snap a season-high, four-game losing streak against the Syracuse Crunch (14-5-1-1). Syracuse leads the season series 2-0-0-1. Scott Munroe and Dustin Tokarki are between the pipes. Full lines are below.

In case you missed it last night, an illogical statistic: The Phantoms, who pride themselves on having a shooting mentality, actually have more wins when they allow 35 or more shots than when they record 35 or more shots. They've had 40 or more in each of their past three losses.

Some links: Chris McKelvie has been Albany's late scratch in a couple of Adirondack's games against the Devils. His brother, Zach, an Army man, has a really interesting story behind his pro career.

A recap of Syracuse's game last night has one of the more interesting, descriptive ledes I've ever read.

San Antonio is toward the bottom of the Western Conference standings with 19 points, but added two NHL veterans this week in Mike Mottau and Jon Sim. They should help the Rampage get some wins.

There are a couple of changes to Adirondack's line-up from last night's loss. Same six blueliners, but coach Terry Murray has taken Jason Akeson off the line with Sean Couturier and Harry Zolnierczyk. Akeson took warmups with Brayden Schenn and Tye McGinn. Ben Holmstrom took his place. Jeff Dimmen finally gets the chance to skate against his former Calder Cup teammates.

I didn't catch three of Syracuse's lines, so I'll edit this post when I have everything squared away. It looks like they're going with seven blueliners and 11 forwards, but I'm not sure which were together.
